대과(大過) — 연못 위에 바람. 연못이 나무를 없애고 지나침은 미치지 못함과 같다. 과하면 도리어 나쁘다. 적당함이 최고다.

효별 해설

초효：藉用白茅，无咎。
White reed grass beneath the offering — no harm. Extreme caution leaves nothing to chance.

이효：枯杨生稊，老夫得其女妻，无不利。
A withered willow sprouts — an old man weds a young wife; nothing unfavorable. Unconventional but works.

삼효：栋桡，凶。
The ridgepole sags — danger. The central pillar is failing.

사효：栋隆，吉。有它吝。
The ridgepole rises — auspicious, yet other matters bring regret. The main support holds, but watch elsewhere.

오효：枯杨生华，老妇得其士夫，无咎无誉。
A withered willow blooms — an old wife weds a strong man; no harm, no praise. Possible but not celebrated.

상효：过涉灭顶，凶，无咎。
Crossing water over the head — danger but no blame. Doing the impossible with a clear conscience.
