항(恒) — 우레 위에 바람. 우레와 바람이 함께 지속된다. 꾸준함이 성공의 열쇠. 하지만 지속이란 고집이 아니라 바른 도를 지켜가는 것이다.

효별 해설

초효：浚恒，贞凶，无攸利。
Seeking constancy too deeply — danger; no benefit. Excessive attachment brings harm.

이효：悔亡。
Regret vanishes. Walk the middle path, without deviation.

삼효：不恒其德，或承之羞，贞吝。
Unable to maintain virtue — may suffer shame; staying upright brings regret. Giving up halfway is regrettable.

사효：田无禽。
No game in the fields. Wrong direction — effort wasted.

오효：恒其德，贞，妇人吉，夫子凶。
Maintaining virtue with constancy — upright. Auspicious for the wife, dangerous for the husband. Each role has its own constancy.

상효：振恒，凶。
Restlessly seeking constancy — danger. Agitated and unsettled; the foundation is weak.
