대장(大壮) — 하늘 위에 우레. 우레가 하늘을 가로지르며 기세가 등등하다. 힘이 가장 강할 때 억제가 필요하다. 성한 것은 반드시 쇠한다.
효별 해설
초효：壮于趾，征凶，有孚。 Strength in the toes — campaigning is dangerous; have sincerity. Power at the base but not yet mature; rash action is risky.
이효：贞吉。 Staying upright brings good fortune. Power directed correctly.
삼효：小人用壮，君子用罔，贞厉。羝羊触藩，羸其角。 The small use brute force; the noble do not. A ram butting the hedge gets its horns stuck. Wisdom over force.
사효：贞吉，悔亡。藩决不羸，壮于大舆之輹。 Staying upright — good fortune, regret vanishes. The hedge is breached; strong as a great carriage axle. Breakthrough achieved.
오효：丧羊于易，无悔。 Losing sheep at the field's edge — no regret. Small losses do not harm the core.
상효：羝羊触藩，不能退，不能遂，无攸利。艰则吉。 The ram butts the hedge — can neither retreat nor advance; no benefit. Through hardship comes good fortune. Stuck between extremes, perseverance resolves it.
