Yi (Increase) — Wind above Thunder below. Wind and thunder mutually increase each other. Now is a good time for growth, but increase should be used on the right path.

Line 1：利用为大作，元吉无咎。 Favorable for great undertakings — supremely auspicious; no harm. When strength increases, pursue grand plans.
Line 2：或益之十朋之龟，弗克违，永贞吉。王用享于帝，吉。 Offered a tortoise worth ten strings — cannot refuse; eternal uprightness brings good fortune. The king uses it to honor Heaven. Use increase for righteous purpose.
Line 3：益之用凶事，无咎。有孚中行，告公用圭。 Using increase to handle misfortune — no harm. With sincerity on the middle path, report to the duke with jade tablet. Use growth to face crisis.
Line 4：中行，告公从，利用为依迁国。 Walking the middle path — reporting to the duke who heeds. Using increase to relocate the capital. Use growth for major decisions.
Line 5：有孚惠心，勿问元吉。有孚惠我德。 Sincerity benefits hearts — without asking, supremely auspicious. Sincerity enriches my virtue. True increase wins hearts.
Line 6：莫益之，或击之，立心勿恒，凶。 None come to increase but some come to strike — unsteady heart; danger. In adversity, wavering resolve invites failure.
