Jing Fang organized 64 hexagrams into 8 palaces based on the upper trigram. Each has one pure hexagram plus 7 derived hexagrams: Qian (Heaven), Dui (Lake), Li (Fire), Zhen (Thunder), Xun (Wind), Kan (Water), Gen (Mountain), Kun (Earth).
Each palace has 8 hexagrams in sequence from the pure form through progressive line changes, reflecting cyclical I Ching change.
