건(蹇) — 물 위의 산. 물이 산 위를 흐르며 한 걸음 한 걸음이 어렵다. 어려움에 직면하면 무리하게 밀고 나가지 말고, 우회하여 도움을 구하라.

효별 해설

초효：往蹇，来誉。
Going brings hardship; returning brings great gain. Stepping back from difficulty yields rewards.

이효：王臣蹇蹇，匪躬之故。
The king's servant faces layered hardship — not for personal cause. Suffering for the greater good commands respect.

삼효：往蹇来反。
Going brings hardship — return. Retreating from difficulty is not weakness.

사효：往蹇来连。
Going brings hardship — return and unite. Retreat, gather strength, then advance.

오효：大蹇朋来。
In great hardship, friends come to help. At the hardest moment, allies arrive.

상효：往蹇来硕，吉。利见大人。
