Marrying Maiden — Hexagram Detail — I Ching 64 Fortune Telling

兑宫Element金#54

Gui Mei (Marrying Maiden) — Thunder above Lake. Thunder enters the lake like a marriage. Marriage is a natural affair, but timing and matching matter greatly.

Line-by-Line

Line 1:
Marrying off a sister — even a lame person can walk; campaigning brings good fortune. Imperfect conditions still allow action.
Line 2:
One eye can see — favorable for the recluse to stay upright. Keep your way within limitations.
Line 3:
Marrying a sister but sending the elder instead, then reversing — breaking protocol; indecision.
Line 4:
Marrying off a sister past the date — delayed but eventually married; there is waiting. Postponed but ultimately fulfilled.
Line 5:
King Yi marries off his sister — the princess's attire is plainer than the maids'. The moon nears full; auspicious. Noble simplicity brings good fortune.
Line 6:
The woman holds a basket but it is empty; the man slaughters a sheep but no blood flows — no benefit. Form without substance.
